The <\/span><\/span>Cycle<\/span><\/span><\/a> \u00a0is a kind of large iteration at the <\/span><\/span>Cluster level<\/span><\/span><\/a> , it could also be called a “cluster iteration”. <\/span>The cycle is usually also used for the <\/span><\/span>Portfolio level of the entire Organization<\/span><\/span><\/a> . <\/span>The Cycle consists of several <\/span><\/span>Iterations<\/span><\/span><\/a> , a preamble consisting of \u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Cluster Planning<\/span><\/span><\/a> and a trailer consisting of <\/span><\/span>Cluster Review<\/span><\/span><\/a> and <\/span><\/span>Cluster Retrospective<\/span><\/span><\/a>. <\/span>Since these events take a significant amount of time, the P4 Framework provides for a complete week every quarter, which is referred to as an Inter Cycle Week<\/strong>. <\/span>This approach does not confuse the iteration events, which always take place on the same day of the week.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Inter Cycle Week is exactly between the Iterations of two Cycles and starts on the day after the <\/span><\/span>Team Retrospectives,<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0not on the following Monday. <\/span>It ends the previous Cycle with a <\/span><\/span>Cluster Review<\/span><\/span><\/a> and a <\/span><\/span>Cluster Retrospective<\/span><\/span><\/a> (together with a <\/span><\/span>Portfolio Review<\/span><\/span><\/a> and an <\/span><\/span>Organizational Retrospective<\/span><\/span><\/a> if the Organization level also uses Cycles) and starts the next Cycle with Cluster Planning<\/a> (with a previous <\/span><\/span>Portfolio Planning<\/span><\/span><\/a>,<\/span><\/span> if applicable)<\/span>. <\/span>The following picture illustrates this:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
